Dry Black Channa


2 cups black channa soak overnight in 5 cups of water with 1 tbsp of salt
1 tbsp of onion medium size chopped finely
1 tbsp of cumin powder
1 1/2 tbs of corriander ( cilantro seeds ) powder
3 tbsp of tomato paste
2 tbsp of xacuti masala
1/4 tsp of sugar
few sprigs of fresh cilantro
sal to tatse


Cook the soaked channa in 5 cups of water for 1 hour on medium heat or till they soften.
Drain and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add the chopped onions and saute till soft.
Then put in the tomato paste and the dry spices and satue for 1-2 minutes.
Next add the dry channa, sugar and salt and saute and cook covered for 5 minutes. Add chopped cilantro and serve with rice or nanna or bread.
